Almost Grub

I had dinner at Grub Resto early this evening with my closest girls, Batet and Devi.
I was looking forward to it and I even brought my camera to take pictures of our food.
But we were already starving when we got there and after the last morsel was cleaned off the plate, that's when I realized I forgot about documenting the whole meal. Sigh! I plan to go back there this Friday, though. So, I hope I won't forget about taking a picture of the food. :)

Maitre Chocolatier

After dinner at Moon Café, we had dessert at Maitre Chocolatier, which is also located at Abreeza.

They also serve main dishes, aside from their delicious chocolate confections. The prices are quite expensive (Php 100 - up), but given the brands they use I wouldn't be surprised. For those who loves Lindt chocolates, they serve it there. :)

Their chocolate drinks (with choices of hot blend or ice blended) are priced at 150. Mint Chocolate, Dark Chocolate and Nuttela Chocolate Drink are among the flavors they have on their menu.

I was a bit disappointed with the Dark Chocolate drink because I was expecting a bitter Dark-chocolate taste, but it was not. Although it's still delicious. The Mint Chocolate didn't disappoint though. The taste of mint in chocolate is refreshing and heavenly.

If you're going to order their Guiltless Crime, you must eat the whole thing at once. The playful taste of fruits (Apple, Kiwi and Mango) in chocolate base and syrup in your mouth is delightful.

Guiltless Crime

Of course, if you really wanted the whole Chocolate-y experience, they offer a wide range of cake desserts with sinful chocolate ingredients.

For those hopeless romantic Romeo's planning to woo their chocoholic Juliet's, Chocolatier offers Chocolate baskets with assorted chocolate brands. The price is quite hefty though, which ranges from Php 1000 up. But nothing is expensive for our loved ones, right? :)

On a sidenote, I love the window display of Chocolatier. The beautiful cocktail dress is actually made of recycled Ferrero Rocher wrappers. Plus points for Chocolatier for their eco-conscious display. Yay

The menu is also informative, with pages containing facts and quotes about your favorite Chocolate.

Moon Café

Last Friday, we got to treat ourselves to a superb dinner at Moon Café, Abreeza.
Of course, given the place, all the restaurants there are quite expensive but I wanted to give it a try.

The theme of the restaurant is Mexican, with mosaic tiles and big fan-shaped ceiling fans and clay jars adorned on the wall. The tables and chairs are made of wood, which all the more made it feel Mexican-homey. I love their basin-like sink, which was painted with colorful flowers, villa style.(Pardon, I didn't have the pictures of the jars and sink.)

The food prices are affordable which ranges from Php 70 up. Drinks ranges from Php 50 up. They serve Baby Back Ribs, Steak, Chicken Dishes, Fish Dished, Salad, Pasta and a lot more.

I ordered their Gambas Pasta and it was delicious. Just the right spice for those who can't tolerate spicy food. It can be shared for two, but I prefer to eat it by myself. ;) And the shrimp portions are quite generous. It's price of Php 178 is worth it.

I got to taste their Chimichanga, too which is heavenly spicy. It's serving size is just right for it's price of Php 90.

I only got a small taste of what my friends had and even with that small portion, it was G-O-O-D.

I definitely would want to go back there and taste everything on their menu.
Oh, and while you're there, you should try their fruit juice (I forgot what it's called). It's refreshing. You wouldn't want to share. :)

Chic in the City

I've lived in Davao the whole 29 years of my life and honestly, I still don't know much about the ins and outs of the city. If new shops and restaurants are to open, sometimes I learned about it months after it has been opened! Also, it's hard for me to inquire about a certain place because sometimes their contact number is not posted on the yellow pages and even on their store sign.
So I decided to dedicate this blog page on giving information about any place in the city. (I'm still a long way to go here, but I'll  be trying).
I know some has been doing this already. I'm not going to compete with them, I'll be doing my own style. At least it helps me practice my writing.
Wish me good luck then, I tend to procrastinate! :)
